Apple introduces new iPad, Apple TV and new iPhone 6S

Yesterday on September 09th at exactly 19 p.m. the personal keynote from the big Apple took place in San Francisco. Even before the keynote, there were already some rumors that the new iPhone 6S, a new Apple TV or a new iPad would be presented. We have summarized all new devices for you.

Apple Keynote: WatchOS 2 for the Apple Watch

In addition to some new third-party apps, such as Facebook Messenger or an app from GoPro, the new WatchOS for the Apple Watch was also introduced. This is version 2.o. This update brings some new functions and options for the "Health app", Apple's own health app, which is already installed on most new iPhones with iOS 8.0. The watch can now also measure and display health data in real time. It was also announced that there will be new wristbands (of course!) for the smartwatch in the future.

Apple Keynote: New iPad Pro

As expected: Apple has introduced a new iPad, more specifically the iPad Pro with a 12,9 display, which is said to be a lot bigger than the previous models, with brilliant image quality. It has an A9X chip with 64-bit technology. The Pro is also 6,9 millimeters thin.

The tablet's battery should last around 10 hours, of course not when actively using it or when gaming. The good sound is provided by 4 speakers located at the corners of the iPad. Another new feature is the pen, also called a stylus, which can be used to draw on the iPad or do other things. Compared to a stylus on the Surface or some Note smartphones from Samsung, the "Apple Pencil" looks rather clunky. Since you can also connect a keyboard to the Pro, the pen can also be used to operate it, which is similar to the Surface from Microsoft. A Microsoft spokesperson was even present at the Apple keynote. Thanks to the cooperation between Microsoft and Apple, the Office apps are also on board.

The new iPad is intended more for business purposes, but interested customers can of course also get their hands on it. The prices are also known: 799 dollars for the 32 GB version, 949 dollars for the large 128 gigabyte version - the version with 128 GB and LTE costs a whopping 1079 dollars - in the colors space gray, silver and gold. The new Pro is due to hit the market in October. The prices for the accessories of the iPad Pro: the keyboard costs 169 dollars, the pen 99 dollars.

Apple Keynote: Apple TV 4 presented

The new generation of the well-known Apple TV was presented under the motto “Siri show me something new”. The interface and software have been redesigned - well done Apple! Some apps like iTunes Shows, iTunes Movies, and the App Store are preinstalled.

The voice assistant Siri, probably already known to most, is now fully integrated into the TV. It is now possible to find new films using language. Or commands like: "Siri, please rewind a few seconds", "Find me new films", "Find me family films" are now possible. There is also a brand new remote control with which you can operate the TV box via a touchscreen. The game "Crossy Road" we already have tested here has got its own multiplayer mode for the Apple TV. If you want to play more games on the TV, you can easily download them from your own app store. The box is connected to the television using an HDMI cable.

The price of the Apple TV is $ 32 for the 149 GB version and $ 199 for the 64 GB version.

Apple Keynote: Apple introduces the new iPhone 6S

The special feature of the entire keynote, which was presented almost at the end: the brand new iPhone 6S with exciting new functions. There will also be a larger version: the 6S Plus. The new, already expected full-surface Force Touch is now installed, which Apple calls 3D Touch. It is now also possible to execute certain functions directly in the app menu of an app, so an information window opens directly on the home screen. The new A9 chip should ensure good performance. The front camera has 5 megapixels, the main camera 12 megapixels - with improved autofocus. Now 4K videos can also be recorded using the video function. There will also be a new upgrade program in the USA with which you can easily switch/upgrade from a normal iPhone 6 to an iPhone 6S.

The prices should be the same as the iPhone 6. The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will be available in Germany from September 25th. As a little side information, it was announced that iOS 9 will be available for download from September 16.
