iOS 13 with Apple Arcade and Dark Mode available from today
Finally the time has come. All iPhone users get the update to iOS 13 today. This not only brings numerous new functions, but also Apple Arcade.
Apple today released the update to iOS 13 for the devices mentioned here. To carry out the update, go to the settings, where you will find the entry "Software update" under the item "General". The new iOS should appear there from today. If this is not the case yet, the best thing to do is to check for new software versions or just wait a few days. Apple will not release iPadOS 13 and macOS 10.15 Catalina until a later date this year.
iOS 13: Apple Arcade is included
Before I get to the new features of the operating system, I just want to mention again that Apple Arcade is also available starting today. This is a gaming subscription that costs 4,99 euros pro Month costs and with several premium games comes along. A family subscription is included in these 4,99 euros. The first hands-on videos are already looking very promising, I link the most detailed from my point of view here:
Now we come to some new features, including the new dark mode. Long wanted and now finally here. If it is first activated via the control center, it wraps the entire iOS user interface in a deep AMOLED black. This not only looks good, but also saves battery on the newer iPhones, since the black pixels are deactivated here. You can optionally define when and for how long this mode should be active. Then Apple revised a few apps - photos and memories, for example - and introduced a completely new one: Find my. With it you can not only search for all of your Apple devices and, in the best case, find them again, but you can also find friends. “Log in with Apple” is also on board for the first time.
Again: The latest update can be found in the settings. If it does not light up there, you should wait a few days. iPadOS 13 and macOS Catalina will appear at a later date.
