iPad Pro (2018) will soon support cheaper Logitech Crayon pen

Updates can change a lot. This is also shown by an upcoming iOS update for the iPad Pro (2018). This will enable support for a cheaper pen for the iPad. Currently, only the Apple Pencil is supported.
The Apple only tolerates its own pens: at least that is still the case with the iPad Pro (2018). Appleinsider According to an insider, Apple is planning a great update for last year’s iPad Pro. Specifically, the next version of iOS 12 is due to be released today – Launch of the Apple Streaming Service - appear. This should also prepare the Apple devices for the new service. Then the cheaper Logitech Crayon pen will also work with last year's iPad. It already works with the latest model.
Not every Apple Pencil works with every iPad. We have in this guide explained which pen is the right one for which iPad.
30 euros cheaper, but does not recognize any pressure
The Logitech pen currently costs around 30 euros less than the Apple Pencil. However, it does not recognize the pressure and therefore cannot change the thickness of the lines on its own. The line thickness can, however, be changed by tilting the pen - which would also solve this problem. However, the Logitech pen is also inferior to the Apple model in terms of battery life: the Apple pen for 100 euros is said to last around 12 hours, the Logitech Crayon only just under seven hours.
The Logitech pen is also charged using a lightning connector. This means that the charging connector is not an impractical choice. However, you have to decide for yourself whether you want to save the 30 euros and do without the functions mentioned above. Older iPad Pro models will not be compatible with the Logitech pen. Owners of an iPad Pro (2017) are therefore unfortunately out of luck.
