iPhone 12: Launch in October
September 15th there will be an Apple event. In this case, however, the iPhone 12 should not be the focus.
As Mark Gurman writes on Twitter, the iPhone 12 should not be presented until October. That would also coincide with Apple's statement that the new iPhones would be coming in a few weeks. Instead, we'll be different at the keynote Prosee products. Presumably these could be the iPad Air 4 and the Apple Watch Series 6. This is confirmed, among other things, by the invitation for the press, which has the slogan “Time Flies” on it.
I am told Apple won't announce the iPhone until October. This is for the iPad and Apple Watch in all likelihood. https://t.co/pw1oVXVoaL

According to some rumors Apple would have to these Proucts were supposed to publish a press release today, but that didn't happen. In parallel with these devices, the company will probably announce a release date for iOS 14, iPadOS 14 and watchOS 7. It is well known that the latest Apple Watch always comes with the latest version of watchOS - and this is only compatible with the latest version of iOS. Therefore, it is obvious that the event and this date are related.
We have to be patient for another seven days, then we will know whether these assumptions are correct.
