So far, Netflix has only been known as a streaming service for films and series. Now it looks like you will be able to enjoy games in the future too.

Netflix is not doing as well now as it was a few years ago. Although it is still ahead of Disney + and Co. in the ranking, the number of subscribers wobbles a little. The service must therefore become attractive again and it seems that Netflix wants to do this with a range of different games. There are at least several signs of this now and some inside information.

Netflix: New positions are being filled

The most obvious indicators are current job postings on the service's homepage. The first jobs have already been awarded. On Wednesday, the company announced that Mark Verdu was hired by Facebook as "Vice President of Game Development". He was previously on the Oculus team. He also worked at EA.

In addition, relevant information has already been discovered in the iOS app. iOS developer Steve Moser was able to discover code snippets that confirm an expansion of the offer to include games.

Netflix gaming: Probably no extra charge planned

We have reported several times that Netflix is increasing the prices of its subscriptions. With such an innovation, one actually expects that there will be an increase again. In fact, that shouldn't be the case here, the games should at least be free for the time being. That could make it a big competitor to Apple Arcade, which Apple wants to see money for on a regular basis. For this, TV + was again free of charge for a long time. We'll see how that develops.

When the streaming service will also offer games is still in the stars. Now the team behind it has to be set up in the coming months.
