OnePlus 3 and 3T: Update to Android Pie arrives

Two months ago it was announced that the OnePlus 3 and 3T Android Pie get soon become. Now the time has come: the first smartphones are being updated.

Im Community area On the OnePlus homepage, the manufacturer announced that the rollout of Android 9 Pie with OxygenOS 9.0.2 for the OnePlus 3 and 3T will start immediately. As is the case with all other software updates, the update is rolled out gradually. That means that a few more weeks can pass before the latest version is running on all devices. These things have changed according to the official changelog:

    • Updated system to Android ™ 9 Pie ™
    • Brand new UI for Android Pie
    • Updated Android security patch to 2019.4
  • Do Not Disturb mode
    • You can now customize the time range in the new Do Not Disturb mode
  • New Gaming mode 3.0
    • Supported displaying text content of the heads up notifications
    • Added notification for 3rd party calls
  • Phone Number
    • Dialer now supports Google Duo
  • Camera
    • Supports Google Lens to provide you with powerful image recognition experience
  • System
    • General bug fixes and improvetements

At the end of the community post, OnePlus notes that there is no point in forcing the update using a VPN. Android Pie is distributed randomly, not on the basis of countries or similar criteria.
