The OnePlus Nord CE 5G was unveiled today at the company's brief "Summer Launch" event. TechnikNews tells you all the technical details and prices.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G does not directly follow the "original" OnePlus Nord from last year. It is not a direct successor, but rumor has it that it will start soon. OnePlus says the "Core Edition" would have its own new line-up. So maybe we will see several “CE” devices in the future.

OnePlus Nord CE 5G: Technical Specifications

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G has a 6,43″ Full HD+ AMOLED display, just like the original Nord. The big difference lies in the implementation of the front camera. While the original OnePlus Nord had a double front camera, OnePlus only uses one on the CE. as ProThe processor uses a Snapdragon 750G, which is slightly weaker than the Snapdragon 765G from the original Nord. Depending on the configuration, this is configured with 6, 8 or 12 gigabytes of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 or 256 gigabytes of UFS 2.1 memory. So the configurations are almost identical, the hardware 100%.

There are bigger changes in the cameras than in the rest of the device. The main camera was increased to 64 megapixels, the 8 megapixel ultra wide-angle camera was taken over from the Nord. Instead of a 2 megapixel macro camera or a camera for depth information, a mono camera is installed. The mono camera should provide better black / white values, that can only be clarified by a test. The front camera (Sony IMX471) has a resolution of 16 megapixels. Videos can be made at 4K 30 FPS, or 1080p at 60 FPS.

The battery was praiseworthy increased from 4115 mAh to 4500 mAh, the charging time remains the same. OnePlus has updated its 30W charging technology "Warp Charge 30T" to a "Warp Charge 30T Plus". This enables a 70% charge in 30 minutes. Wireless charging is not supported. A "point of criticism" from many users was the removal of the 3,5 mm jack connector. With the Nord CE, OnePlus is bringing back the 3,5 mm jack connector, at least for this device.

Connectivity features include 5G (N78), WLAN 5, Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC. The fingerprint sensor is in the display, the mono speaker is on the lower right side.

OnePlus Nord CE 5G: pricing and availability

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G is available in three colors: Blue Void (matt back), Charcoal Ink and Silver Ray (glossy back).
