Last night Apple unveiled two new smartphones as part of the annual keynote in San Francisco. One is the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus with dual cameras. We have summarized everything for you.

After 1 million iPhones sold, Apple is the most successful smartphone manufacturer on the market. Additionally with iOS 10, which Apple presented at WWDC 2016 the iPhone 7 should really convince overall. By the way, iOS 10 is coming to all iPhone 13, iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 users on September 7th. But now all the details about the iPhone 7.

Display

The Retina HD display of the iPhone 7 is 4,7 inches, the iPhone 7 Plus has a 5,5-inch touchscreen. Incidentally, the display should now be 25% brighter than that of the predecessor and should now convey colors even more strongly and more naturally. Like the iPhone 6S Plus, 3D touch is of course built in again.

Design

The two iPhone 6S successors are now available with a glass-aluminum back for the first time. But if you don't want a glass back, you can of course still switch to the model without glass on the back. The rest of the body is otherwise made of pure aluminum. In addition, there is now a model called "Jet-Black" with a highly polished back and a highly polished home button. It is therefore very susceptible to fingerprints, but makes a very classy impression. However, the colors gold, silver and rose gold are still retained.

The case is now waterproof for the first time, with an IP 67 certification. That means: half an hour at a depth of one meter. On Thursday, however, it became known that Apple would not include water damage in its warranty. The antenna strips have also moved to a different place and are no longer visible on the back.

Home button now with 3D touch

The home button of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is no longer mechanical, but a touch home button like the one on the OnePlus 3. In addition, Apple relies on a pressure-sensitive home button for the successor. The software should be able to recognize how hard you press the button and can then set yourself which function should be carried out, for example, when you press harder.

Performance

The new four-core chip called A10 Fusion makes the iPhone even faster. This should offer the two flagships a super performance, even the latest games should be able to be played completely smoothly. If not so much performance is needed, it switches Proprocessor back and thus protects the battery. Compared to the A9 from the iPhone 6S, the A10 is said to be 40 Probe cent faster. The graphics chip should be around 50 Prooffer cent better performance.

The front camera shoots selfies with 7MP on both smartphones. However, the two successors differ in the main cameras. The iPhone 7 shoots pictures with 12 megapixels and now also has an optical image stabilizer. The Plus model has two cameras with 12 megapixels each. One camera has a 28-millimeter wide-angle lens, the second is a telephoto lens with a focal length of 56 millimeters. With the two cameras, the iPhone 7 can offer the user a 2x optical zoom and a 10x digital zoom. Videos can be digitally zoomed up to 6x.

iPhone 7 without a headphone jack

With the iPhone 7, Apple says goodbye to the headphone jack and Hello to headphones with a Lightning connector. In the future, the Lightning connector will be responsible for audio management. But if you want to use your good old headphones with a jack connection, there is no need to worry. An adapter and the new Lightning headphones are included free of charge in every scope of delivery. Alternatively, you can buy the new AirPods for $ 159. These can be easily coupled with the iPhone 7. They offer a battery life of five hours and are charged in an enclosed box that offers 24 hours of battery life. You can speak to Siri by double-tapping the AirPods - noise canceling ensures the best sound quality here.

Battery life

Although the display and the performance have now been improved a lot, Apple promises a battery life of twelve hours for the iPhone 7 - the iPhone 7 Plus has a full 13 hours. For comparison: the iPhone 6 has a running time of ten hours, the battery of the iPhone 6S Plus lasts a full twelve hours.
