OnePlus Nord CE3: First leaks on the technical data
Two years ago, OnePlus officially presented the first smartphone in the Nord series, which had a lot to offer for the price of 399 euros at the time. OnePlus was one of the leading manufacturers of mid-range smartphones, but the Nord series is unfortunately not what it used to be, which is clearly illustrated by the current leaks of the upcoming OnePlus Nord CE3.
The CE3 is said to be the successor to the CE2 - which was presented at the beginning of this year for a recommended retail price of 349 euros. It's a solid smartphone, but it never lived up to the reputation of the first OnePlus Nord. The RRP was simply too high, but it is still properly equipped. Unfortunately, it now seems as if the upcoming CE3 will have to accept a few compromises compared to its predecessor.
OnePlus Nord CE3 specifications
According to current rumors, the OnePlus Nord CE3 comes with a 6,7-inch LC display with an FHD+ resolution. If this rumor should actually come true, it would be a huge step backwards compared to the predecessor, which is equipped with a high-quality OLED panel. After all, the screen in the CE3 should support a smooth refresh rate of 120 Hertz. The Snapdragon 695 5G from Qualcomm is said to be working under the hood, which is to be supported by either 8 or 12 GB of RAM. Depending on the version, there should also be 128 or 256 GB of internal memory. Unfortunately, it is currently unknown whether this can be expanded with a MicroSD card.
A 5.000 mAh battery, which can be charged quickly with up to 67 watts, should ensure long runtimes. The OnePlus Nord CE3 is supposed to be unlocked via a fingerprint sensor placed on the side of the frame, which would also be a step backwards compared to the CE2.
A triple camera is to be found on the back, which is to be led by a main camera with a proud resolution of 108 megapixels. On paper, that would definitely be an upgrade over the 64-megapixel sensor from its predecessor, but in return, according to current rumors, you have to make compromises with the ultra-wide-angle camera. There shouldn't be any. Instead, OnePlus is supposed to install two sensors, each with 2 megapixels, which are probably responsible for macro shots and depth effects. A 16-megapixel front camera is used for selfies.
The OnePlus Nord CE3 is scheduled to be presented next year. A launch is currently expected in the first or second quarter.
