Held today on September 9th OPPO held a launch event in Paris, at which, among other things, the new OPPO Reno6 5G was officially presented.

What it can do and how much the manufacturer charges for it, you can find out in the following lines.

OPPO Reno6 5G "Every Emotion deserves a Portrait"

Let's get straight to the devices that were presented today. That would be the Reno6 5G as well as the Pro-Variant. (Unfortunately it will be the Reno6 Pro not available in Germany for the time being, so we are dealing with the normal Reno6 5G here)

The MediaTek Dimensity 6 Octacore SoC works inside the Reno5 900G. The display is an FHD + 90Hz AMOLED display, which is completely flat. In general, the Reno6 5G looks very appealing with its "retro design" and I find it somehow "different". The camera system we get is a 64 megapixel main camera, a 32 megapixel front camera, an ultra-wide angle with 8 megapixels and a (probably unnecessary) macro camera with 2 megapixels. The Reno6 5G comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, which unfortunately cannot be expanded via a microSD card. However, dual SIM is supported.

SuperVOOC 2.0 via USB-C is of course also supported. The battery should be fully charged in just 28 minutes.

"Bokeh Flare Portrait", the flagship of the Reno6 5G

OPPO is increasingly promoting the Reno6 with the so-called "Bokeh Flare Portrait Feature". This is a real-time recording with a blurred background and bokeh light spots. The object in the foreground is of course shown bright and sharp.

An "AI highlight" video function and an "Ultra Dark" function for photos at night are also on board. “Ultra Steady Video Stabilization” should of course not be missing.

OPPO brings back “Glow Design”

"OPPO Glow" is the special coating on the back of some OPPO models. It is manufactured with a special, trademarked etching technique and gives the Reno6 5G a subtly sparkling finish, which should also feel very good in the hand. On closer inspection, one should be able to recognize or interpret millions of tiny snowflakes on the glass.

Prices and availability

The OPPO Reno6 5G will be available from today, September 9th, in all popular OPPO retail partner shops. On Amazon there is a bundle with the OPPO Enco Free2, which I have already tested and found to be very good for the offered price of 99 euros. Therefore, you pay "only" 400 euros for the Reno6 5G, which in my opinion is the price from which you can strike without much concern.

Beautiful device 😀 Angular design makes everything appear more modern and thinner (thinner display bezels) I hope Oppo will replace Huawei in Austria. How cool would it be if they opened an oppostore somewhere in Vienna: O
