The spread of Android Pie continues. After the first Samsung devices got Android Pie with the One UI user interface, OnePlus is now equipping the 5 and 5T with the new software and version 9.0 of the OxygenOS user interface.

OnePlus has been rolling out Android Pie with OxygenOS version 9.0 gradually to buyers of a OnePlus 5 or 5T since yesterday. You don't have to take any manual steps here, everything should happen automatically - OTA. If you don't see the update immediately, you should wait a few days. As with Samsung, the latest version of Android is being rolled out gradually. Within the next few weeks, however, all users of last year's OnePlus smartphones should have Pie. The security update for this December is also included with the update.

A few sentences about the innovations in Android Pie and OxygenOS 9.0. There is now a new control via gestures, which can only be used on the OnePlus 5Tprocan beer. The OnePlus 5 does not yet have any software buttons. Also coming with gestures is a new multitasking menu. This looks similar to that of the current Pixel devices. There is also now Google Lens in the OnePlus camera app and a new gaming mode.
