Spotify is currently offering a family plan, which can be almost a bit expensive for two people. Therefore, a cheaper subscription is now being tested, called the Premium Duo.

A little guide: Spotify currently offers Premium, that 9,99 euros pro month costs. Only one account is included here. Then there's Spotify Family, which costs €14,99 and includes up to six different accounts. This can be expensive, especially for people who want to use it for two. That's why Spotify is now testing Premium Duo for 12,49 euros a month. As the name suggests, up to two Spotify accounts can be created here.

For now only in a few countries

For the time being, however, the new subscription model will only be tested in Colombia, Chile, Denmark, Ireland and Poland. Spotify wants to advertise Premium Duo with some interesting features. First there is the "Duo Mix" playlist. This is created automatically at the beginning, similar to the playlist with the weekly mix, and is visible to both partners. It contains songs that suit both people's musical tastes. In order to adapt the selection a little better, Spotify also implemented the options “Chill” and “Upbeat”, which serve as filters for the playlist. It will also be possible to share your entire playlist with your partner with one tap. So far it is unclear when and whether Premium Duo will come to us. We will definitely report back when the time comes.
