After a few other companies, Razer also has CES 2019 took the chance new Proto present products. Among other things, the Razer Raptor 27, the first gaming monitor from the well-known gaming brand, was shown.

Until now, monitors had only been worked with partners, but were never able to use the full potential here, says Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan. Now the first in-house gaming monitor is being shown at CES 2019 in Las Vegas. With the first version, one would like to get involved in the gaming monitor market in the future. The 27-inch monitor comes with a resolution of 2.560 x 1.440 pixels (WQHD) and offers a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Unfortunately, the built-in IPS display gives you a response time of 4 ms, which is slower than the usual 1 ms with the competition. As usual with Razer, this monitor also comes with a lot of color space - with an RGB strip on the bottom.

Additionally, the Razer Raptor 27 comes with an HDMI port, in addition to a DisplayPort and USB-C port. With this, other devices can be charged directly from the monitor via USB-C. In addition to the other connections, there are two “normal” USB-A 3.1 ports on the back. Since the Razer Raptor 27 is only moderately bright with a brightness of up to 420 cd/m², it also only supports the HDR400 standard. Nevertheless, almost 95 Procenter of the DCI-P3 color space and AMD FreeSync is also supported. Last but not least, the side edges are very narrow at 2,3 mm. The display can also be folded backwards by up to 90 degrees. The cables go neatly through the monitor stand to the PC.

The Razer Raptor 27 is slated to appear in the US later this year for a hefty price of $ 699,99. It is not yet clear when we will see the gaming monitor in Germany and Austria and what the prices will look like here. Nevertheless, you can assume that we will release it soon.
