Sennheiser has been selling various in-ears for a long time. Including the models of the affordable CX series. This has now grown with the Sennheiser CX True Wireless.

Let's start with the optical, because nothing really happened here. The Sennheiser CX True Wireless look like their predecessors, the CX 400BT TW, the end. So they are made of matt plastic and each have a touch control panel on both sides. This can be used to pause the current playback, for example. When it comes to colors, you can choose between black and white.

The microphones on the earphones have been improved for this. We now have two of them on each side, which should improve the voice quality when making calls. And while we're on the subject: the sidetone feature is also new. If this is activated, you can hear your own voice during phone calls.

The box for charging the CX True Wireless remained unchanged. The design is identical to the predecessor and is charged once more via USB-C. The headphones also switch off here when they are placed in the charging cradle.

These in-ear headphones won't stop you from workouts or walks in the rain. They are protected against the ingress of water according to IPX4.

Improvements to the sound and the Smart Control app

The newly developed TrueResponse drivers are built into the headphones. These are supposed to deliver lifelike sound at all pitches. The Smart Control app also houses other equalizers, which means that the user can adjust the sound to suit their own preferences. Furthermore, the app now allows the music to be forwarded to just one of the two earplugs. The connection with the smartphone is handled by Bluetooth 5.2, which is supported by the well-known codecs SBC, AAC and aptX.

Sennheiser specifies a value of 27 hours for the battery life. In the past it has been shown that these values often also correspond to reality.

Sennheiser CX True Wireless: pricing and availability

The Sennheiser CX True Wireless will be available in stores from July 8th. The price is 129 euros.
