Many users are currently reporting unexpected crashes of Snapchat. The app can be opened briefly, but closes again immediately. However, this is not due to your own smartphone, but is Snapchat down.

Snapchat has been down again since Tuesday evening following last week's problem. You can find the current article here.
Article at 21:42 pm: Users around the world are currently reporting the app's crashes. However, only users with Android are affected - i.e. those who do not have an iPhone with iOS. So there is currently no point in downloading the app again or logging out and logging in again. But there is a little trick you can use to get the app to work anyway.

Snapchat down: This is how the app works anyway

Before you open the app, deactivate your internet. It is best to switch on flight mode here. Then open the app, then send your snaps or view the preloaded snaps, exit the app and switch the internet back on. This means that your snaps are sent and the app does not crash during this time.

Snapchat made an official statement about this disruption on Twitter an hour ago. "They are working on a solution," says von Snapchat on Twitter. There is also a solution for users who lost their flames during the failure. On this Snapchat help page you can reclaim your flames.

Snapchat down: updates

Update at 21:54 p.m.: Nothing is currently going on. We'll have to wait and see.

Update at 22:21 p.m.: Still no improvements.

Update at 23:29 p.m.: It seems to take even longer - as I said: iOS users are not affected.

Update at 06:34 p.m.: Snapchat was able to fix the problem last night. "If it doesn't work, quit the app and restart it," Snapchat said on Twitter.

Can't send snaps

Daniel Steiner

why is that not possible again?

[…] Update at 22:21: Still no improvements. Update at 23:29: It seems to be taking even longer... Nevertheless, some users are still having problems and the app simply crashes. Snapchat support recommends closing the app completely and restarting it. You can find out how to do this on Android in the linked instructions. On iOS, it should... […]
