Surface Pro 7
The Surface Pro 7 is the comparatively “boringest” convertible of the group. Visually, the device looks the same as that Pro 6, the editor-in-chief David could test, the end. The type cover is also exactly the same. Whereby, we now (FINALLY!) Get a USB-C port. The most important changes can be found inside the tablet. A Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 from Intel of the tenth generation are now at work there. There is also a maximum of 16 gigabytes of RAM and one terabyte of memory.
The display remains at its usual 12,3 inches, with a resolution of 2.736 × 1.824 pixels and a pixel density of 267 dpi. Previous generations of Surface Pens remain compatible and the same. Unfortunately, due to the better performance, there is a slightly worse runtime of a maximum of 10,5 hours instead of 13,5 hours with the Pro 6 – but now there is Fast Charging.
The Surface Pro 7 goes on sale on October 22, starting at €749. You can pre-order it here.
3 Laptop Surface
While there was only a Surface Laptop with a 13,5-inch touchscreen last year, Microsoft is also offering a 15-inch version this year. But that's not the only change. The laptop now also has a USB-C port and, depending on the color chosen, the keyboard deck is not made of Alcantara, but of ordinary aluminum. With the internal components, the game is a little more complicated:
- 13,5 inch model: IntelPro10th generation processors, a maximum of 16 gigabytes of RAM, a maximum of one terabyte of memory
- 15 inch model: AMD Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7, maximum 32 gigabytes of RAM, maximum of 512 gigabytes of memory
There has also been a significant improvement in changeability. The SSD is now exchangeable and should be easy to change by the user.
The new Surface Laptops will be available October 22nd. The price of the 13-inch model starts at 999 euros, while the starting price of the other variant is 1.149 euros. The pre-order is also from now on possible on the Microsoft website.
Surface Pro X
The Surface Pro X is a completely new one Product in the lineup. And you can already see that in the design, more precisely in the display. This measures 13 inches instead of 12 inches diagonally, although the case has not become larger. Means that the edges of the display have become a lot thinner. The Surface Pen is now also new, it can now be stored and charged in the redesigned Type Cover. Strictly speaking, this works by means of wireless charging.
The tablet is powered by the "SQ1" Proprocessor from a collaboration between Microsoft and Qualcomm, which is an ARMProprocessor and has a cellular modem. This means that the device can always be connected to the Internet via LTE/3G/2G and that the battery should theoretically last a whole day.
As for the ports, we get two USB-C and nothing else. In addition, there is "only" a quick charge function, together with a webcam, microphone and loudspeaker. That comes by default too Pro X without keyboard - the Signature Keyboard and a Slim Pen can be purchased as extra accessories. The battery life is said to be 13 hours.
We have the Surface Pro X for private customers on November 19 at a price of 1.149 euros. You can pre-order on the Microsoft website. Now you ask yourself: who or what is this for? Pro X? It seems more of an attempt at design without going into the normal Pro- Abandon lineup. But it is also significantly thinner (7,3 mm) and borderless.
