TechnikNews Weekly # 024: Rumors about the OnePlus 6T, Fortnite not in the Play Store and more

Last week there was a little less of us to read, fortunately this week it was exactly different again. Time to get all the news of the week on the 24th. TechnikNews Weekly to summarize.

Rumors about the OnePlus 6T

The OnePlus 6T will probably be presented in November this year. It will take a while to get there, but there are already the first rumors about this smartphone. It is believed that the upcoming Oppo R17 will serve as the basis for the OnePlus 6T. That would be quite likely when you consider that the Oppo R15 was the basis for the OnePlus 6.

The upcoming T-model should have similar specs to the R17: a 6,3-inch OLED display in 19: 9 format, a notch and possibly a fingerprint sensor under the display. The battery could be 3415mAh.

Will the OnePlus 6T have 10GB of RAM? That depends entirely on whether Qualcomm will present a chip this year that supports this RAM size. The current Snapdragon 845 doesn't do this. There are currently no rumors about things like wireless charging or IP certification.

Fortnite may not be for the Play Store

So far we have often reported about the upcoming release of Fortnite on Android. The game will be available for Android on the announced date, but not via the Play Store. This is suggested by a note in the source code of the mobile website, which will be used to download Fortnite for Android in the future. The reason for this detour is the fact that developers 30 Procent of their in-app proceeds have to be given to Google.

New tablets from Samsung

Quite unexpectedly, Samsung introduced two new tablets this week: the Galaxy Tab S4 and the Galaxy Tab A 10.5. The Tab S4 is clearly the high-end device to go with procan be productive. That's why it's also compatible with the $149,99 Book Cover Keyboard and a new S-Pen that connects to the device via Bluetooth. It also supports – just like the current smartphones from Samsung – DeX. The 4:3 AMOLED display of the Galaxy Tab S4 is 10,5 inches and has a resolution of 1600×2560 pixels. The battery is 7300mAh and can be quickly recharged with Fast Charging. Inside, the Snapdragon 4 works in cooperation with 64GB of RAM and 835GB of storage. The Tab S4 will be available from August 22nd at a starting price of €699.

The Galaxy Tab A 10.5 is a mid-range device that is well suited for consuming media. That is why four AKG stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos were installed here. The display of this tablet is also 10,5 inches and has a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. Here, too, the battery is 7300mAh. The built-in Snapdragon 450 support 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The Tab A 10.5 will be available from August 22nd at a starting price of € 329.

Instagram is testing new user interface

Instagram is testing again. This time the user interface was screwed. So have the button to view his Profils and the button for sending messages swapped places. In addition, there is now a new bar in the comments section that shows which emojis are used frequently.

WhatsApp soon with advertising

It has long been said that WhatsApp could sooner or later be bombarded with advertising. Fortunately, your own conversations are spared from advertising. However, companies will use the WhatsApp status to incorporate advertising in the form of new stories. In addition, it is now possible to contact companies via WhatsApp.
