As every year, numerous companies, including tech companies, post their April Fools punctually on April 1st. This year there were some particularly unusual ideas again. We present the top five April Fools' Day jokes on the web.

Some news couldn't be taken seriously on this Easter Sunday. Nor are there any announcements from various manufacturers and companies. We have picked out the best five April Fools jokes and put them together.

5th place: Google with swipe keyboard

Google writes in Japanese google blog of new hardware. So you should probably work on a swipe keyboard. On some keyboards on smartphones, you can type by swiping on the keyboard. A suitable video has also been published for April 1st:

4th place: Smartshoephone from T-Mobile

The name suggests it: a smartphone in a shoe. This is what T-Mobile USA imagines under this year's April Fool's joke. This is also quite obvious - but clearly shown and demonstrated in a beautiful video. But: Wouldn't that really be possible with the current state of the art?

3rd place: Pi-Coin from OnePlus

The announcement that OnePlus would have its own crypto currency caused a lot of discussion on the internet. In a specially designed website, you put here its new cryptocurrency. You should be able to mine these with the OnePlus smartphones in a future software update. There should also be a dedicated wallet for mining: This should probably be available in the in-house software OxygenOS. (We have exactly what cryptocurrencies and wallets are in this past guidebook already explained.)

In the meantime, however, the community is still divided. Some believe that it will be a public April Fool's joke, but others still find it realistic. Because last year they had an April Fool's joke idea (a dash charge energy drink) even really given away. In addition, there was also a mini drone from OnePlus in 2015.

2nd place: Bitcoin mining with your own Fritz! Box

Had another April Fool's joke about cryptocurrencies also the company AVM ready. The manufacturers of the Fritz! Box announced a new version update for the boxes. This should bring a function for mining Bitcoin. With the Fritz! Box you should be able to make money with Bitcoin easily while you sleep.

In addition to the joke, there is currently a competition for a Fritz! Box 7590 running. On this page you can take part in it.

1st place: "Where's Walter?" By Google

Probably the most creative and funniest April Fool's joke comes from Google again this year. This is also - what a surprise - in Google Maps again. In the year 2015 you could even play the classic Pacman on the Google map. But also this year they bring an April Fool's joke to play.

This year Waldo - known from a well-known children's book series - can be found on Google Maps. He has shared his location, now you can search for the guy with the hat in several search or hidden objects. Ultimately, the whole search for a few levels should also lead to a solution and an associated award and badge.

The search can be started in the Google Maps menu. Alternatively, a voice input starts the search with “Ok Google, where is Walter?”. The Easter Egg has been available since March 31st and runs until the evening of April 5th.

Those were probably the best highlights of all April Fools' Day jokes for April 1st in 2018. Even if some jokes were pretty obvious, banners or videos were always very elaborate and well made.
