The Chinese company Vivo presented three new smartphones in Malaysia yesterday, the Vivo V21, V21 5G and V21e, all of which can be assigned to the mid-range. At first glance, the front camera immediately catches the eye, which has a very high resolution of 44 megapixels and also has optical image stabilization.

All three models look very similar and there are hardly any significant differences in the technical data. Only the installed ones Processors under the hood are very different.

Vivo V21 Series: Technical Specifications

All three smartphones are characterized by a beautiful design. They are offered in a number of colors that are very colorful and eye-catching, typical for Vivo. The frame was obviously inspired by Apple, because it is flat, similar to the current iPhones. If we take a closer look at the front, the first thing you notice is the small, teardrop-shaped notch in the display. There is space for a 44 megapixel front camera, which in the case of the V21 and V21 5G even has optical image stabilization. Furthermore, there is a dual LED flash on board, which should ensure better recordings at night, among other things. The somewhat weaker V21e unfortunately does without the OIS system and the dual LED flash.

The OLED display is 6,44 inches in size, has a pleasantly sharp resolution of 2.400 x 1.080 pixels and supports a smooth refresh rate of up to 90 Hertz. The fingerprint sensor has been integrated into the display. Funtouch OS version 11, based on Android 11, is used as the software. The biggest difference is under the hood. While a MediaTek Dimensity 21U works in the V21 and V5 800G, only a Snapdragon 21G from Qualcomm is used in the cheaper V720e. In all three cases, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage are available procan be easily expanded via a micro SD card.

The battery has a solid 4.000 mAh capacity and can be charged quickly with up to 33 watts. The manufacturer installs three cameras on the back, which can be found in the top left. The main camera has a resolution of 64 megapixels and is supported by an 8 megapixel ultra wide-angle camera and a macro camera with 2 megapixels.

Vivo V21 series: price, availability and colors

The Vivo V21 costs the equivalent of around 320 euros and unfortunately there is currently no information for the 5G model. There are three colors to choose from with “Sunset Dazzle”, “Dusk Blue” and “Arctic White”. For the slightly weaker equipped V21e, customers have to put the equivalent of 240 euros on the table. It is available in the colors "Roman Black" and "Diamond Flare". It is currently unclear whether the devices will ever find their way to Europe.
