WhatsApp for Android: Dark Mode now available

After a long time, Facebook gave its messenger WhatsApp dark mode. The update is already available in the Play Store for beta users.

Nice a few months ago we speculated here about the introduction of dark mode in WhatsApp. As it turns out, the “soon” from back then probably took a little longer. But now it is here: in version 2.20.3 for Android. However, the implementation does not seem to be quite optimal - there is not really a completely dark design, but rather dark gray.

WhatsApp Dark Mode: How to get the new design

Are you already in Beta-Program from whatsapp logged in, you can update the messenger directly in the Play Store. Alternatively, you can use APKMirror the latest APK version of the messenger and then install the update manually. For inexperienced users, however, the more difficult route.

If you have loaded the latest update, you have to switch to the settings and then to the item "Chats". There you can set the design to dark under “Theme”. There is also the option of synchronizing the setting with the system setting. But this only works if the smartphone supports a system-wide dark mode.
