Withings ScanWatch Nova presented: A fusion of diving watch and tracker
Withings has introduced the ScanWatch Nova, which combines health monitoring with the design of a diving watch. There are also some small but subtle changes inside that help measure breathing rate and skin temperature.
In a nutshell: The ScanWatch Nova features a diver's watch style, featuring a rotating ceramic and stainless steel bezel and Luminova watch hands for better visibility in low light conditions. The case is made of highly polished stainless steel combined with a sapphire crystal that has an anti-reflective coating. The OLED grayscale screen improves the readability of important notifications. Its design makes it suitable for every occasion, whether for sports, in the office or at events.
- New highlights include the early detection of diseases and continuous monitoring of body temperature
- The elegant design can be combined very well for all occasions
- Withings still states the battery life as up to 30 days
The smartwatch uses MultiWave PPG sensors and Withings' HealthSense operating system to track various health metrics such as heart rate, heart rate variability and electrocardiogram (ECG). Other features include measuring SpO2, breathing disorders and monitoring sleep patterns. The ScanWatch Nova also carries out ECG measurements and records changes in body temperature. These functions can help detect cardiac arrhythmias and the onset of diseases early.
In addition, the hybrid watch offers a sleep quality score and tracks various sleep metrics. It can also track steps, calories, altitude and exercise routes and supports more than 40 activities. It also offers an assessment of the fitness level based on the VO2 Max. We already know these things from the predecessors.
Like the previous models, the ScanWatch Nova offers a long battery life of up to 30 days, but unfortunately there is no integrated GPS.
