Withings Sleep: Gadget now detects breathing disorders

The Withings Sleep has been available for a while now. The gadget received recognition of breathing disorders during sleep via a firmware update.
If you update the Withings “Health Mate” app as a buyer of a Withings Sleep, a firmware update will activate the feature for detecting “sleep-related breathing disorders”. This goes hand in hand with the fact that the device can now diagnose sleep apnea.
What do you need that for?
Sleep-related breathing disorders are not bad in themselves. However, if they occur frequently, they can be a sign of sleep apnea. These usually go undetected because they cannot be diagnosed without clinical equipment. They can also have more serious consequences, including fatigue, depression or cardiovascular problems. Withings wants to receive medical certification for the detection of sleep apnea by the end of the year. The Withings Sleep currently costs 99,95 euros.
