Xiaomi 11T series gets three version and four years security updates

The Xiaomi 11T series gets a big innovation. So far, Xiaomi's update policy has been opaque. That changes with the 11T series.
Xiaomi had previously followed a clear strategy. Devices with a very good price / performance ratio, with a focus on hardware. With the launch in Europe, prices were also raised, but the opaque software policy remained.
Today, the group announced in a press release that the upcoming Xiaomi 11T series (consisting of 11T and 11T Pro) will receive software updates with features (i.e. Android 12, 13 and 14) for three years and security updates for four years. Other devices are not yet affected by this, i.e. the Mi 11 series not yet. Xiaomi "continues to check the possibility of extending the update promise to other models". We assume that future devices like Xiaomi 12 and more will receive the advanced updates.
The devices will be on September 15th vorgestellt.
