Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi 9 Explorer Edition and Mi 9 SE presented

Xiaomi has expanded its own flagship range. In addition to the Xiaomi Mi 9 and the Mi 9 Explorer Edition, the company from China also presented the Mi 9 SE. The devices can do that.

All three smartphones of the new Mi generation look very futuristic. The display of the Mi 9 and Mi 9 Explorer Edition is 6,39 inches and has a FullHD+ resolution. This extends over 90,7 Procenter of the front. The touchscreen of the SE model is a little smaller. We are talking about a diagonal of 5,97 inches, 90,4 are occupied Procenter of the front.

Xiaomi offers a total of three different case colors for the Mi 9, called Lavander Violet, Ocean Blue and Piano Black. The Explorer Edition is only available in black. In return, you get the feeling that you can see the internal components. However, this is only a sticker. The Mi 9 SE will be available in black, blue and purple.

There is a fingerprint sensor in the display of all devices.

12 gigabytes of RAM in the Explorer Edition

The Mi 9 and Mi 9 Explorer Edition have the current Snapdragon 855 with the Adreno 640 and six or eight gigabytes of RAM. The latter smartphone will even be available with 12 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of internal storage. Xiaomi installed "only" 9 gigabytes of internal memory in the Mi 128. The SE edition is a little weaker, here you get the Snapdragon 712 with six gigabytes of RAM and 64 or 128 gigabytes of memory. The manufacturer installed Android Pie with MiUI version 10 as software.

The battery of the more powerful model, i.e. the Mi 9 and Mi 9 Explorer Edition, is 3300 milliampere hours. With the Mi 9 SE you only get 3070 milliampere hours.

Surprisingly good cameras

The top smartphones Mi 9 and Mi 9 Explorer Edition have a triple camera whose sensors have a resolution of 48 megapixels, 16 megapixels (wide angle) and 12 megapixels (telephoto). This combo scores 107 points in the DxO camera benchmark, which means that the smartphone lands in third place in the ranking.

When it comes to cameras, too, the SE comes up short, albeit not significantly. A triple camera is also waiting for you here. The resolution of the individual sensors is 48 megapixels, eight megapixels and 13 megapixels.

Worldwide presentation pending

All three smartphones were presented for the first time only for China and neighboring countries. A global launch will follow at MWC 2019 in Barcelona. Prices for the European market will then be announced there.
