The Chinese company Xiaomi will present us with a new fitness tracker on June 7th: the Xiaomi Mi Band 2. In contrast to the predecessor Mi Band 1S Pulse, the upcoming fitness tracker has its own display and a button.

It has been known for about a month that Xiaomi will soon release a new fitness tracker. At that time, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun took a selfie with the new Mi Band 2 – the picture then ended up online. The tracker was briefly presented at the Xiaomi press event. A release date has not yet been announced at this time because of internal Proproductionproproblems there had been delays. The predecessor 1S Pulse, which we are currently testing for you with a few other fitness trackers, has only 2 progress LEDs for the set daily goal, in contrast to the new Xiaomi Mi Band 3.

Presentation of the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 on June 2nd

Yesterday, however, the CEO of Xiaomi stated that those interested will get to see the tape “properly” for the first time in a performance on June 2nd and will then be able to officially buy it from June 7th. However, there is no information on features, battery life and price yet. We suspect that the battery life will not be as long as the case with the two predecessors due to the display. We estimate a price of around 30 euros. Our first impression: Finally a fitness tracker with a display and a button! We just find the tracker a bit too thick and could be even flatter.
