The Xpeng brand is once again underlining its ambitions on the European car market. The G6, an electric SUV coupé from the Chinese manufacturer, will be launched in Germany in August. The G6 is already impressing with its strong values.

The Xpeng G6 shows its best side even in the basic version and leaves little to be desired. In addition to all assistance and comfort functions, a panoramic glass roof, a heated steering wheel and heated and ventilated front seats are on board as standard.

Thanks to a long wheelbase of 2,89 meters, the interior is generously designed and offers plenty of space even for tall Europeans. The interior uses materials familiar from the P7 and G9, which already made a high-quality impression in these vehicles. The central control unit is a 14,96-inch touch display, for which Xpeng promises high resolution and fast, intuitive operation. Periodic software updates will enable owners to make adjustments and improvements to the vehicle's software in the future. The only other options on the list of configurable options are a trailer hitch and various exterior colors.

Strong performance data

The Xpeng G6 is based on the newly developed SEPA 2.0 FUYAO platform and comes with two battery sizes: an LFP battery with 66 kWh and an NMC battery with 87,5 kWh. The large battery should enable a range of up to 570 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. For the small battery, Xpeng announces a RWD model with 190 kW / 258 hp, the large battery is available as RWD Long Range with 210 kW / 286 hp or as AWD Performance with 350 kW / 476 hp. The most powerful engine manages the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,1 seconds. Xpeng specifies the charging power as up to 280 kW, a very high value in this class, also in relation to the battery sizes of the G6. The charging time from 20 to 80 percent should be just 15 minutes at this charging speed.

From summer in Germany

Xpeng is aiming to launch the G6 in Germany as early as August 2024. By then, the G6 will be configurable online and available to inspect at dealers. However, Xpeng's dealer network is still few and far between: by the end of this year, there will be twenty dealers across Germany.
