Overcast is a well-known podcast app for iOS and iPadOS, but there is no macOS version. With PodcastMenu you can still use the app on your Mac.

PodcastMenu is not found in the App Store on Mac. The app was developed by Guilherme Rambo from 9to5Mac and is available as a free open sourceProproject on GitHub released. Many may shy away from thinking that this is not safe, but the app is signed by Apple, otherwise it would not even be possible to install it on a Mac. But what does the little tool do now?

PodcastMenu is a Mac app for the menu bar that allows Overcast to be used on the Mac. If you click on the icon for the first time, you have to log in with your overcast login. This can be created and configured via the app settings on the iPhone or iPad. Once you have logged in, you can continue listening to your podcasts. The current status is of course also synchronized back to the iPhone and iPad. The developer, Guilherme Rambo, has resorted to a little trick and shows it Web version of Overcast in the little pop-up.

The range of functionalities is not extensive, but it is by far the best way if you want to use Overcast on macOS.
