The Chinese manufacturer OPPO presented the new Find X3 series a few months ago, consisting of X3 Lite, X3 Neo and one Promodel, for the European market. However, outside of Europe there is still the regular OPPO Find X3 and this is exactly what we want to take a closer look at in the following lines.

Compared to Pro-model, there are hardly any differences. Inside, “only” the Snapdragon 870 works instead of the 888 and this is “only” supported by 8 GB of RAM. There is no official IP68 certification either, but the smartphone should still be waterproof, just not officially. Otherwise it offers the same hardware as the Promodel and costs only 630 euros in Chinese shops. My detailed test report in a few weeks will clarify, among other things, the question of whether the regular X3 with the few drawbacks compared to the Promodel is the better deal. But first, let's unpack the smartphone.

OPPO Find X3 unboxing

When you touch the packaging, you quickly notice that you are dealing with a comparatively expensive and high-quality smartphone. The box is significantly larger than almost all other devices. It is light gray, feels extremely valuable and on the front we find a large "3" and the lettering "Find X".

When the lid is removed, a large gray box is revealed, containing the usual paper stuff, but only in Chinese. An OPPO Care+ card is also included. Directly underneath is the smartphone, which is in a foil for protection. If you have removed this, you can see a film on the front to protect the display. This feels good, but in my case it could have been attached a little better. In addition, the manufacturer supplies a transparent case, which is matte in the case of the white color. Furthermore, in-ear headphones, a large power supply with 65 watts and a suitable cable from USB-C to USB-A are included. Since this is a Chinese smartphone, the power adapter is not suitable for European, but for Chinese sockets. However, TradingShenzhen includes an EU / UK / AU adapter so that the smartphone can be used without Proproblem can be loaded.

First impression of the OPPO Find X3

I've been using the OPPO Find X3 for a few days now and so far I'm very impressed. One reason for this is the beautiful design. The frame is made of metal with a high-gloss finish and feels extremely high-quality, but is also very prone to fingerprints. My absolute highlight, however, is on the back. Here, at least with the white color, matte glass is used, which feels extremely high-quality and is absolutely insusceptible to fingerprints. It's a piece of glass that curves smoothly around the camera block. This not only looks unique, but also feels incredibly comfortable. Almost all other smartphones have some sharp-edged camera hills, which feel slightly uncomfortable on the one hand and where dust can easily collect on the other. This ProThere are no problems with the Find X3. Also, the white color looks beautiful in my opinion and is definitely something different.

If we turn the smartphone around, we see a familiar picture. The 6,7-inch OLED display is slightly rounded on both sides, the edges are pleasantly thin and the front camera has a small punch hole. Like its predecessor, the panel supports a smooth 120 Hertz refresh rate, which definitely has a positive effect in everyday life. The combination of high refresh rate and Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 ensures excellent performance. Apps start and close extremely quickly, you won't find any stutters here and more complex things don't bother the Find X3 at all Prostated problems.

Otherwise, the speakers, the fingerprint sensor in the screen, the vibration motor and the 3 megapixel microscope camera caught my eye. The latter takes impressive pictures that I have never seen in any other smartphone. It is difficult to find the right distance to the object, but once you've made it, the images are really impressive. So far, I can't say too much about the rest of the cameras or the battery life. In my detailed test report in a few weeks, I will report in much more detail about the OPPO Find X3 and also compare it with other smartphones.
