Realm 8 Pro review: unboxing and first impression
The new Realme 8 Pro has been available for a few weeks and now it has finally reached us. It started with a suggested retail price of 279 euros and now you can even get hold of it for a little less.
The battery and the camera in particular stand out positively when you look at the data sheet. The smartphone comes with a 108 megapixel quad camera and a large 4.500 mAh battery that can be charged extremely quickly with up to 50 watts. In this article, I pack the Realme 8 Pro first and report on my first impressions after a few days of use.
Realm 8 Pro: unboxing
Like almost all Realme smartphones, the new 8th Pro in an eye-catching packaging. It is yellow and on the front with the Proadorned with duct names. Once you've removed the lid, you'll see a small yellow box containing a SIM needle, the usual paperwork and a transparent case to protect the smartphone. Directly below you will find the Realme 8 Pro. A protective film is unfortunately not appropriate, at least not on my test device. Otherwise, a 65 watt power supply is included, with which the smartphone can be charged with up to 50 watts. For less than 300 euros, this is extremely impressive. Last but not least, a suitable cable from USB-C to USB-A is also included.
Realm 8 Pro in the first impression
So far left the 8th Pro a very positive first impression, which is mainly due to the display. Fortunately, Realme uses a high-quality OLED panel with FHD+ resolution for less than 300 euros. Individual pixels cannot be recognized in everyday life. The brightness makes a good impression and the colors are also great for the price. Although they are a bit too oversaturated in the "Vivid" and "Brilliant" color modes, the color rendering can be adjusted to one's own taste with a few clicks. If there's one thing to criticize about the screen, it's the refresh rate of just 60 hertz. Many smartphones already offer 300 or even 90 Hertz for less than 120 euros, but then unfortunately only with an LC display. And yes of course, a Redmi Note 10 Pro is even equipped with a 120 Hertz OLED panel, but the Realme 8 Pro is on the one hand a bit cheaper and on the other hand you can't necessarily expect OLED with 120 Hertz for less than 300 euros everywhere, at least in my opinion.
I really like the performance so far. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 720G from Qualcomm, which is supported by 8 GB of RAM. Despite the refresh rate of only 60 Hertz, everything runs very smoothly and constantly and apps start pleasantly quickly. Although at first I was a bit worried about the Prozessor because it's a bit older and not the strongest in this price range, but I haven't noticed anything negative so far. The performance is right.
I would like to positively highlight the in-house user interface and the matt, rough back. So far, I can't say too much about the battery and the camera. I'll have to take a closer look at that in the next few days and weeks and then my detailed test report will follow here very soon TechnikNews.
