YouTube has recently been able to be installed as a PWA on your own PC or Mac. In this article I will explain exactly what it is and how it works.

Briefly at the beginning: What are Proaggressive web apps, PWAs for short, actually? These are websites that can be installed as an “app” on a computer, smartphone or tablet. You also get your own icon and window when you open it - apart from the browser. The upside is that PWAs are often less resource-hungry and the user experience feels more native. In addition, thanks to a PWA, content can easily be made available offline.

The goal: Everything should look as natural as possible without the need for a native app proneeds to be programmed.

Install YouTube as a PWA: done in no time

First of all, you have to make sure that you have the whole Prozedere with a supported browser. These include Chrome, Edge and Firefox, the latter option being omitted if you are a Mac user. Now open the YouTube homepage. A plus icon with the note "Install" should now appear in the area of the address bar. Confirm your plan in the pop-up window. You can already find the app on your PC or Mac.
