Rumors about an Apple AR headset have been circulating on the internet for a long time. Now it could go into the serious phase, the Proproduction is scheduled to start this year.

Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the massesproProduction of an Apple AR headset will start in the fourth quarter of the current year. This should last until the second quarter of 2020. This means that Apple could present the headset at WWDC 2020 at the earliest. But also at annual iPhone event there is a possibility of a release next year.

Apple AR Headset: Depends on the iPhone

An important detail about the whole thing is that the glasses will be very iPhone-dependent, according to Kuo. This means that all processing of data and downloading of data from the Internet happens on the smartphone. This results in a great advantage, but also a disadvantage. The advantage is that the headset can be so much lighter since there is no Proprocessor must be installed. On the other hand, components such as depth sensors or the battery still have to go somewhere. The downside is that it requires a constant connection to the iPhone, which can drain the battery faster. The connection to the device is most likely via Bluetooth, but Kuo does not confirm this.

I'm definitely looking forward to the headset myself. I also wonder whether the device will then serve as an extension to the Apple Watch or do other things for which the watch is less suitable. We keep you up to date!
