Apple HomePod: Concept shows two possible models
Apple's homepod lineup is sparsely populated right now and it's not clear how this goes from here. A concept now shows which paths the Apple HomePod could take in 2022.
Apple's range of speakers currently only includes one Product. That's the home pod mini. The first and larger HomePod was removed from the range in the first half of the year, which in some ways left a gap. For example, the mini is not so well suited for connecting to an Apple TV, as the sound is simply not as full and powerful, which you would not want with films and series.
This naturally raises the question of what Apple plans to do in this sector in the coming and future years. A new concept therefore shows what two new HomePods could look like.
Apple HomePod: speaker-TV combo
The first ProThe result of the concept is a soundbar that also comes with an integrated Apple TV. The advantages of such a combination are obvious. As a buyer, you get all the advantages of an Apple TV and good sound is automatically included. Also, given its size, a soundbar can be expected to sound better than the HomePod mini and the first HomePod.
The developers of the graphics also thought about the specs. Such a device could come along with Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio. They also expect Siri to be directly integrated and that the remote control will offer improved battery life and its own “Siri LED ring”. This should probably light up when the voice assistant receives commands.
Apple Homepod: competitor for Amazon's Echo Show
If you look at the second Apple HomePod of the concept, the Echo Show from Amazon should immediately come to mind. We are dealing here with a square cylinder that houses a display on the top. For example, detailed instructions for a recipe could be displayed on it in the kitchen. Such a HomePod could also be well suited for FaceTime calls.
The editors of the concept therefore believe that a 1080p camera with a 122 degree angle could be installed for the center stage. Center Stage presented Apple together with the current iPad Pros. The camera zooms in on you during a video call so that you are always in focus.
The rest of the possible specifications are similar to those of the first HomePod from the concept.
