Apple MacBook Air with M1 chip officially presented
Apple today presented us with the new MacBook Air with the new M1 chip shown. This should be significantly faster than the predecessor with IntelProbe cessor. In addition, there is no fan - so the new MacBook Air is completely silent.
So there it is, the new 13-inch MacBook Air. According to Apple, this is up to 3,5 times faster than its predecessor and is 100 dollars cheaper than its predecessor. In addition, there is now also an improved webcam for the Air Touch ID. In addition, the new lightweight offers up to five times better graphics performance. Otherwise, the device with retina display remains pretty much the same as before.
Apple MacBook Air with M1 chip without fan and "Neural Engine"
Probably the biggest innovation is also the omission of the fan, and the battery life increases significantly. There is now up to 15 hours of battery life when surfing the WLAN and 18 hours of running time when watching video only without an Internet connection. These are of course the optimal values from the laboratory - but basically the Apple M1 should have increased the battery life significantly. The price has also gone down - $ 100 cheaper than its predecessor. This now costs just under 1000 euros in the entry-level version and there is a 100 euros deduction for schools and educational institutions.
Under the hood there is also a 16-core neural engine, which is responsible for machine learning. Some tasks should run even faster using artificial intelligence - but what that means exactly remains to be seen. As software, you rely on the new Big Sur macOS, which will be officially rolled out this Thursday.
It can be pre-ordered from today on Apple website. It will be delivered next week at the above price.
