Apple Watch Ultra presented: The smartwatch for extreme situations

It's Apple's heaviest and most expensive watch to date - the new Apple Watch Ultra. The company presented this at today's Apple event. You should use the smartwatch for Probe a fi athlete and be more stable than ever.

We will probably continue to see the new Ultra lineup in the coming years. More than ever: longer battery life, waterproof to a depth of 100 meters, larger buttons, robust and brighter are the highlights.

Bigger, more robust, longer
If you were to summarize the new Apple Watch Ultra in three words, these would be the most appropriate. But slowly, let's start with the exterior: at 49 millimeters (410 x 502 pixels), it's larger than all other models. It also shines more brightly - with 2.000 nits, the brightness is already in the upper range of the smartwatch world. The titanium case has grown with dimensions of 49 mm x 44 mm x 14,4 mm, as well as the weight of 61,3 grams.
On the left side we now find a new action button, which can be assigned quick actions. For example starting an app, starting an activity and other things. This button remains exclusive to the Ultra and cannot be found on any other Apple Watches. Another special feature is an 86 decibel siren to draw attention to yourself. This feature is only possible with a new, second loudspeaker.
Longer: The battery life should be up to 36 hours for the first time - or 60 hours in energy-saving mode - with quick charging the battery should also be able to be recharged quickly in case of doubt.
Even deeper
There are new functions in store for divers in particular: there is a water temperature sensor, together with a depth gauge. There is also a new Oceanic+ app for use as a dive computer, which is available on the App Store. Other functions such as ECG, blood oxygen and other things are also available here. But we already know these things from other Apple Watches. Diving is recommended to a maximum depth of 40 meters, although the Apple Watch Ultra should be waterproof to a depth of 100 meters according to the paper.
In terms of sensors, we get a new gyroscope sensor and a G-force sensor, which is particularly beneficial for users in extreme sports.
Prices and availability
With the Apple Watch Ultra, it's easy: There's only one model, only Cellular, which offers mobile communications and GPS in one package. This means that the new Ultra-Watch also costs an Ultra price of 999 euros – regardless of the bracelet and size. Orders are now on the Apple website possible, delivery should start on September 23rd.
