Bose presents new smart speakers and two new sound bars at IFA 2018
As of today, IFA 2018 in Berlin is in full swing. Numerous manufacturers have scheduled keynotes for today. So does Bose - who presented the first smartspeaker in their range.
It's still quite stressful at IFA, the last stands are still being set up and numerous halls are being finished (see the IFA diary later in the evening). But Bose is taking the time to present the new Home Speaker 500 speaker together with the two new soundbars at IFA 2018 in Berlin.
Bose Home Speaker 500: Two assistants in one speaker
Yes - Bose installs two voice assistants directly in its new speaker package. Not only Amazon Alexa is built into the speaker, the Google Assistant will also be added through an update. The user can then choose which language assistant suits him better. A combination would have been nice - a top package. A second update with the support of Apple AirPlay 2 will follow in the course of the year.
On top of that, streaming services like Spotify and Deezer are supported together with Amazon Music and TuneIn. The whole thing is controlled either via the app or using one of the six preset buttons on the top of the speaker. The microphones are also located there - it looks something like a large Amazon Echo. There is also a display on the front.
But the price is proud here: the speaker is said to cost the equivalent of 449,95 euros in Germany and Austria.
The alternative to the speaker: the soundbar
Bose is also launching two new smart soundbars. These can also be controlled with Alexa, the above-mentioned updates should also follow here in the near future. Except for the appearance, there are no changes compared to the Bose Home Speaker 500.
The Bose Soundbar 700 will cost 799 dollars, the Bose Soundbar 500 will cost 549 dollars. The two soundbars, together with the Bose Home Speaker, will be available from us in black and silver on September 21st.
