Last week Lars wrote about on our blog Rumors about the upcoming Fitbit Charge 3 reported. The new fitness tracker has now been officially presented. The new tracker can do that.

In our previous article, we already had pretty accurate pictures of the new Fitbit Charge 3 fitness tracker. We expected a presentation at IFA 2018 in Berlin. But they let the cat out of the bag earlier and presented the new wearable. We have all the details.

Contactless payment under water no Problem

I admit - that headline was a bit too sensational. Specifically, what is meant here is that the trackers of the Charge series with the third successor are finally waterproof. Diving and swimming should be possible up to a depth of 50 meters. In addition, smartwatch features are now installed in this tracker for the first time. It is now possible to make contactless payments with Fitbit Pay via NFC in various shops.

In addition, there are new smart functions such as a weather display, calls and quick reply for messages. Appointments from the calendar are now also displayed. For the above-mentioned NFC feature, a special edition is being launched that can be had for 20 euros more.

That costs the Fitbit Charge 3

The Fitbit Charge 3 comes in the standard version for 149,95 euros on the market. This is available in black with a graphite-aluminum housing or in blue-gray with a rose gold housing. There are also a number of accessories, such as sports bracelets or woven bracelets for 30 to 70 euros.

The special edition comes in white with a silicone sports strap in a graphite-aluminum case or in a lavender-colored knitted bracelet with a rose-gold-plated aluminum case. This costs 20 euros more, so 169,95 euros. Both models are now available on the Fitbit homepage can be pre-ordered.

Could you wait I think the Charge 3 is a really good choice. Above all, I looked at the display at the IFA and that is a significant increase compared to Charge 2. In addition, this stupid Tapscreen is finally gone. A real touchscreen makes operation much more pleasant.
