Google didn't just introduce a Nest doorbell today. A new Google Nest Cam was also in stock. In this article I will explain what this can do.

The Nest Cam is a small surveillance camera with which you can film any area of your home you want, whether inside or outside. The device is equipped with a rechargeable battery so that you are not dependent on a permanent power supply. In addition, it is very robust and should be able to withstand several weather conditions. If a constant power supply is still required, a suitable cable is available separately.

The built-in full HD camera is responsible for filming. This also has its own night mode so that you can see everything when it's dark. The camera sends any recordings to the Google Home app. And if there is currently no internet connection, it can also save it locally for a certain period of time.

Thanks to the alarm area feature, it is very easy to set which areas the camera should monitor so that a notification is sent in the event of movement. You can also train the camera to ignore the people you want. In addition, you can use routines to tell the Google Nest Cam when you are at home anyway and do not need any recordings and when you are on the go.

Google Nest Cam pricing and availability

The Google Nest Cam is now available for pre-order for 199,99 euros. From August 24th it will be on the shelves of the Google Store, MediaMarkt and Co. Two similar Proproducts, a floodlit Nest Cam and a wired one, will be available later this year.

This cam looks very interesting! I've heard some people install these cameras to monitor their children's behavior while they are interacting with their siblings or playing video games.
