Google Nest Doorbell officially launched
Google has just expanded its smart home offering. In addition to the new Nest Cam, a Google Nest Doorbell was also introduced. She can do that.
The name suggests that the Google Nest Doorbell is a smart doorbell. The design of this is kept very simple, the most striking feature is only the camera in the upper area of the device. It can also be installed very flexibly. Thanks to the built-in battery, you are no longer dependent on an external power source and all the necessary things for assembly are included in the scope of delivery.
There are several different ways that the doorbell can notify you of events. If you have a Nest speaker or a smart display, you will get a notification there. Otherwise you will be informed about events via a smartphone. The bell not only recognizes the classic ringing, but also packages, people, animals and vehicles. And if it should be completely old-school, there is also the option of connecting the doorbell to the power supply so that you can hear the ringing.
Google Nest Doorbell: Camera Specs
The built-in video camera records all in HD quality. In addition, it has a night vision mode and a six-fold digital zoom. The recording happens even if the WLAN should fail. This is because it can store video material with a length of up to an hour locally. When you connect to the Internet again, it will then be uploaded.
It is then available either in the home app or on a smart display. In the app, notifications can also be filtered, event histories can be viewed and alarm areas can be defined for which the camera should be activated. In addition, a two-way audio function is integrated, thanks to which you can talk to people on the doorstep.
