Google Pixel and Pixel XL: Update and new features

Some Canadian owners of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL have received an update! It should be a mistake, as the abbreviation is "NPF29J". P usually means "preview".

There are now two new features that should make it easier for the user to unlock the screen. These are “double-tap” and “lift to check”. These features allow you to see notifications on the screen if you quickly tap the screen twice. To do this, of course, the screen must be switched off.

OTA files available for download

It is not yet known when these features will appear on the Google Pixel and Pixel XL outside of Canada. But there are already the OTA files that can be downloaded. Here you get them for that Google Pixel and here for that pixel XL. In order to be able to successfully install the new features, the NDE63V version is required on the device. In the video you can see double tap from 0:41 and lift to check from 1:01.
