Who would have expected that: Huawei actually has the Mate 20X gaming smartphone next to it in London this evening Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro presented. The smartphone with a 7,21-inch display is a real giant monster. But unfortunately there is a catch.

In general, the Mate 20X is supposed to be an alternative and competitor to the Note 9 from Samsung. At 6,4 inches, this is still a lot smaller than the new model from Huawei. Despite that, it would be the perfect smartphone between Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro. After all, the Mate 20X also has a jack plug, a subtle notch and still a good price.

Mate 20X: decent camera smartphone with a pen

While the Huawei Mate 20X is more suitable for gaming, it is of course fully equipped. The 7,21-inch OLED display with 2244 x 1080 pixels (FHD +) solves this. Inside, of course, is the Kirin 980, together with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The equipment of the camera is identical to that of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. There is also an anti-slip glass surface on the back.

The mini notch on the front also brings a 24 megapixel front camera with it, a 3D face unlock like the Mate 20 Pro therefore does not exist. The battery offers 5000 mAh of power for hours of gaming. The stereo speakers should also enable an extra sound experience. Another killer feature is the Huawei M-Pen, a clear statement on Samsung's grade. Oh yes, the jack plug is also on board.

Mate 20X: With gamepad and extra cooling

Of course, a gamepad is missing for a real gaming smartphone. Huawei intends to offer this soon, but no concrete price expectations have been given yet. Furthermore, the cooling system has also been thought through: This should beat all previous smartphones and remain cool even at maximum performance. Unfortunately, it is a pity that there is no wireless charging, as is the case with the Mate 20 Pro but is possible.

Unfortunately, there is no information about a release in Germany and Austria so far. At a price of 899 euros, the Mate 20X would be cheaper than the Mate 20 despite better(?) equipment Pro. From October 26, however, there will only be one version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage in one color. On the Proproduct page of Huawei there is more information.
