Huawei P20 (Pro): Android Pie with EMUI 9 now available

It continues with the Android Pie update wave. To Samsung and OnePlus Huawei is now also distributing the update for its own P-series devices.

Almost a week ago, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro received the Android Pie update with EMUI 9. Now Huawei is giving the current P devices, the Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro, the latest Android version with the company's own user interface EMUI 9. The update is around four gigabytes in size and has the version number CLT-L09 9.0.0.163(C432E5R1P9). The update should normally appear automatically in the settings of both smartphones. If this is not the case, you can try to force an update via the HiCare app. Although Huawei itself gave this tip on Twitter, it only seems to really work for very few people. So you'll have to wait.

There is now the typical Pie gesture control and the associated multitasking menu - the similarity to that of the pixels is clearly there again. In addition, instead of 940 menus, there are “only” 835 menus in the settings. In addition, one-handed operation in system apps has been greatly simplified.

What's the point of this headline... Huawei P20 (Pro): Android Pie with EMUI 9 now available...?
Android Pie is not immediately available but only when the corresponding smartphone is activated for an OTA update. So please stick to the truth.

PS: Rule of thumb for Android: If an update is already available but has not yet appeared, just wait a few days

But it's just not available to many yet! According to the dictionary definition, available means…. available for immediate use! This is far from the case with this update. I hope maybe by the end of this month finally the pie update for my p20-pro to be able to install.
