Instagram: Update now sorts comments by likes

Since the last update, the Instagram app now sorts the comments under pictures according to likes. The system is also known from Facebook: Whoever receives the most "likes" will get the most attention from the app. The Facebook subsidiary now seems to have inherited this.

A few weeks ago we had over one upcoming Instagram update reported. When the company announced, however, there was only talk of a more chronological news feed. While this update is still a long way off, another change has now been quietly introduced. The comments under posts will be in the Profiles and now sorted in the newsfeed by the number of hearts received.

No chance for attention without likes

If you consider yourself a user who likes to comment on images from large pages and likes to join the discussion, you now have a Proproblem Since you can't sort the comments either, there's no way to get to the top without likes — let alone being seen at all. So if you want to get a lot of likes quickly, you should comment on a picture immediately after posting it. Encouraging users to give likes can also be a way. Usually it is the meaningless comments that end up at the top - in contrast to the constructive contributions, which are then no longer seen.

With the next update we will probably find a sorting function for comments. Some pages and people with many comments under their posts should already be able to sort the comments. The function is currently only available for iOS. However, it will be a few weeks before the function is rolled out for all users, including the Instagram app for Android.
