iOS 12: Public Beta is available for download

On this year's WWDC Among other things, iOS 12 was presented, which will officially come onto the devices in autumn. However, you can already test the upcoming OS, Apple has kept its promise and released the first iOS 12 public beta.

The first public beta for iOS 26 has been available since the night of June 12th. At the same time, the first public betas for macOS Mojave and tvOS 12 were activated.

The download of the test version is basically free of charge, but you have to use the beta – Proprogram registered by Apple. If that's not the case, you can here repeat. First you have to log in with your Apple ID and register your iOS device. On the following page you have to enter a configuration Profil for his device. This way you get all future betas directly from the system settings of the iPhone or iPad. People who are already in the beta Programme can simply skip what has just been mentioned. To be able to test iOS 12, you must have an iPhone 5s or newer, with the iPads all iPad Air and iPad mini 2 and higher are supported.

In general, it is advisable to make a backup with iCloud or iTunes before the installation and never install the beta on your daily driver.

Special features of the beta

In iOS 12, particular emphasis was placed on improving performance and stability, which is usually not very much noticed during the beta phase.
