Motorola Edge Berlin, PStar, Kyoto: First technical data [Exclusive]

The Motorola Edge Berlin will be a smartphone from the next "Edge series" from the Chinese manufacturer "Motorola". we have with Adam conway researched the first technical data for the new series.

Motorola will introduce a new Edge series in the coming months, this was already known. We have now researched technical data for two of the next devices.

The best of the three Edge smartphones is being developed under the code name "Berlin". It will run on the new Snapdragon 778G processor, which is also used in the Honor 50/Pro. Ruben Castano, Vice President of Motorola, had already announced this in May approved, but which device was not yet known. According to our information, the processor will be combined with either 6 gigabytes of RAM or 8 gigabytes of RAM. The internal memory is 128 or 256 gigabytes. We currently assume that the "non-NA" version also uses the Snapdragon 778G, but we cannot confirm this 100% yet.

Motorola Edge Berlin: cameras

We had already published the camera details of the Motorola Edge “Berlin” in the past, now we have more information about the cameras. Because Motorola will bring two versions on the market. A European and a "North America" ​​version. This will appear at least at Verizon. The main differences are in the ultra-wide-angle camera and in the camera for depth information. The NA version will not support "Super Zoom" either.

The color variants we currently have are "Emerald" (green), "Stout" (brown) and "white". However, these could also be the colors of the current prototype and therefore change. As soon as this changes, we will report.

Motorola Edge "Pstar"

Then there is the device, which is internally known as "Sierra". This is also what it was called in the list that Evleaks had. We can now report that this has the "public" code name "PStar". The model number we have is "XT2153". The colors are said to be "black", "white" and "blue". We have not yet been able to determine an exact processor, but the device runs on the Qualcomm "Kona" platform, which also runs the Snapdragon 865/870. However, we cannot say whether and which of the two processors could be used. We do know, however, that the X55 5G modem is used.

According to our information, the RAM will be 6/8 or 12 gigabytes and run with 128 or 256 gigabytes of memory.

Motorola Edge "PStar": cameras

The cameras are identical to those of the Edge Berlin. The "Berlin" device has far more camera features than PStar. At this point in time, we cannot say whether these are the only differences.

Motorola Edge "Kyoto"

UPDATE: The Motorola Edge "Kyoto" will come with a Dimensity 720 processor, which has already been installed in many inexpensive BBK and Samsung devices. According to our information, the device comes with 6 or 8 gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of internal storage. The camera sensors are still the ones mentioned below.
