Today Realme finally officially presented the new GT Master Edition for Germany. This is a somewhat weaker one Realme gtwhich is available until September 12th for only 299 euros.

For this price, customers get a lot on offer, such as the Snapdragon 778G from Qualcomm, which is also used in the new Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G. In the following lines you can find out what else the smartphone has to offer, what is included in the scope of delivery and what first impression the Master Edition left us.

Specs

The Master Edition is quite a comfortable size, so that the smartphone can still be easily operated with one hand. It weighs only 174 grams and is only 8 millimeters thick. The front is dominated by a 6,43 inch OLED display, which has a resolution of 2.400 x 1.080 pixels and supports a fluid refresh rate of 120 Hertz. The panel is only interrupted by a small punch hole that houses the 32 megapixel front camera. The edges are also pleasantly thin for a mid-range smartphone. There are hardly any differences to the regular GT here.

The in-house Realme UI in version 2.0, based on Android 11, is used as software. As already mentioned, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G is inside, which is supported by 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage, depending on the version. Unfortunately, the memory cannot be expanded using a microSD card. The 4.300 mAh battery, which can be charged quickly with up to 65 watts, should ensure long runtimes, which hardly any other smartphone in this price range offers. Wireless charging is of course not on board. Unfortunately, stereo speakers and official IP68 certification against the ingress of water and dust also have to be dispensed with.

With the cameras, everything on paper is the same as with the normal GT. The triple camera on the back is on the top left and consists of a 64 megapixel main camera, 8 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a macro camera with a resolution of only 2 megapixels.

Prices and colors

The small version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage costs just 12 euros until September 299th. After that, it will be offered at the usual RRP, i.e. for 349 euros. For double the memory and 2 GB more RAM, 399 euros have to be put on the table. When it comes to colors, customers can choose between Voyager Gray (Suitcase look), Luna White and Cosmos Black.

Unboxing

The Realme GT Master Edition comes in a large black box marked on the front with the Product name is adorned. The most important technical data can be found on the back. Once you have removed the cover, the first thing you see is a small box containing the usual paperwork and a SIM needle. Directly underneath is the smartphone, which is in a foil for protection. Otherwise, the manufacturer also supplies a case that matches the color of the device, a 65-watt power supply, and a suitable cable from USB-A to USB-C. Unfortunately, headphones are not included.

First impression

My first impression is definitely very positive, I especially like the form factor. It can be easily operated with one hand and is very comfortable to hold due to the rounded back. In addition, it weighs only 174 grams and is only 8 mm thick. The only thing I don't really like so far is the plastic back in the color I tested Cosmos Blackthat doesn't feel particularly high-quality and is also extremely prone to fingerprints.

As is typical for Realme, the display makes an excellent impression. It's pleasantly sharp, so I can't see individual pixels in everyday life, colors are reproduced sufficiently realistically and the fluid 120 Hertz refresh rate paired with the Snapdragon 778G ensures a great user experience. For only 299 or 349 euros, I really like it. I'm just a little skeptical about the heat development, as the more expensive brother was a little weak on this point in our test report and because that Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G with the similar Snapdragon 780G was also noticeably warm.

What I also really like is the fingerprint sensor in the display, which unlocks the smartphone extremely quickly and reliably. At the moment, I can't say anything about the battery life or the camera, I need a few more days for that and then my detailed review will follow here TechnikNews.
