Redmi K20 (Pro) presented: The price killer from Xiaomi for less than 400 euros
The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro are the new top flagships from Xiaomi this week. Both smartphones should convince with top equipment and at the same time low price. The self-proclaimed "flagship killer 2.0" can do that.
The Redmi K20 and K20 are also in their own range Pro created a competitor. That Promodel is cheaper than that Xiaomi Mi 9 and at the same time offers - at least on the page - better features. With this configuration, you can beat any competition - be it OnePlus or other Xiaomi models. Nevertheless, savings will have been made here, for example in terms of software or processing. Otherwise such a price is not possible.
Redmi K20 Pro: These are the specs
The Redmi K20 Pro comes with a 6,39-inch AMOLED display with 91,9% coverage on the front. The dimensions are 156,7×74,3×8,8 mm and it weighs 191 grams. It resolves in FHD+ – the resolution should also be resettable on the software side. Inside it is equipped with a Snapdragon 855 with 6 or 8 GB of RAM. The internal memory is 64, 128 or 256GB (UFS 2.1).
The camera comes in a triple combo with a resolution of 48 MP (f / 1.75), 13 MP (wide-angle lens, f / 2.4) and 6 MP (teleoptic lens, f / 2.4). The front camera has a resolution of 20 megapixels (f / 2.0) - by the way, this comes as a pop-up camera. This means that it extends when it is needed - the notch is omitted. Unfortunately, there is no OIS.
The fingerprint sensor is in the display, the battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh and wireless charging is not possible. On the other hand, there is only 27 W fast charging. 5G is not implemented, but Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and WLAN 802.11 ac and a 3,5mm headphone jack are standard equipment. Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 is currently running on it as software. It is also not waterproof - but it costs little:
From June 1st, the Redmi K20 Pro Available in China in Flame Red, Glacier Blue, and Carbon Fiber Black. The cheapest variant with 6 GB of RAM + 64 GB of internal memory costs the equivalent of around 325 euros (original: 2499 yuan) – the variant with 128 GB of internal memory costs ten euros more. Then there are variants with 8 GB of RAM with 128/256 GB of internal storage. If you want the best, put the equivalent of 390 euros on the table. However, these are only converted prices - the actual euro prices are still pending. Likewise, whether the Redmi K20 will even make it to us.
Redmi K20: a little less power, even cheaper
Next to the Redmi K20 Pro Xiaomi also introduced the Redmi K20, an even cheaper version with a Snapdragon 730 and 6GB of RAM, compared to the Snapdragon 855 and up to 8GB of RAM. The display size is also identical – just like the rest of the equipment.
The brother of Promodel is available in Carbon Black, Flame Red and Glacier Blue colors and costs around 260 euros (1999 yuan) for the variant with 6GB RAM/64GB storage. The more expensive version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage costs ten euros more. It is available for pre-order now and will go on sale in China from June 6th.
