Besides two new speakers Google finally officially presented the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL as a highlight. The successors should be able to convince especially with the camera and the improved Google Assistant.
They are finally here: the successor to the popular Pixel from Google. Different like that Galaxy S8 and iPhone X However, Google does not rely on an infinity display here. The flagships are to come onto the market in three colors and offer two memory versions.
Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL: These are the specs
The two flagships only differ in two ways: price and size. The equipment is identical in both versions. The Pixel 2 comes with a FullHD OLED display, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a display diagonal of 5 inches. The Pixel 2 XL trumps with a 6-inch display and an aspect ratio of 2: 1 - this corresponds to a resolution of 2880 x 1400 pixels. The dimensions should not vary compared to the predecessor.
One of the Pixel's top features was the camera, and it's set to be again this year. With just one camera plus machine learning, Google should achieve the same effect as smartphones with dual cameras. The main camera shoots images with 12 megapixels, HDR+ and an aperture of f/1.8. In addition, Google now also provides optical image stabilization (OIS) with the successor. Together with the electronic stabilization (EIS), users should have even more stability, especially for videos profit.

The Snapdragon 835 works under the hood - 4GB of RAM are available for multitasking. There is also 64GB and 128GB of internal storage. For Google Pixel users, however, there is again an extra: all images and videos can be saved in the Google Cloud in the best resolution for free and without limitation.
The tightly sized 2700 mAh battery in the Pixel 2 should provide enough power. The XL model comes with a capacity of 3520 mAh. Within 15 minutes, however, both smartphones should be set up again for 7 hours of running time by means of quick charging.
The software is of course the latest Android 8.0 Oreo with a new Pixel Launcher. What's special: Pixel users always receive software and security updates before all other Android users. In addition, Google promises software support for the devices for 3 years. In addition, the Google Assistant is supplied directly, which can now be called up quickly by pressing the edge.

Price and availability
The two flagships should be available in Germany from the end of October. They will come in the three colors "Just Black", "Clearly White" and "Kinda Blue" and two configurations. For the standard version of the Pixel 2 you have to put 939 euros on the table. If you are interested in storage for the Pixel 2 with 64GB, you will pay an impressive 1039 euros. Google has not yet revealed the prices for the 128GB variants - probably over 2 euros for the Pixel 1000 as well.
