As Samsung announced yesterday, the update to the latest version of Android 8.0 Oreo for the Galaxy S8 (Plus) has been withdrawn. Accordingly, it should be due to an annoying software bug.

The excitement was great: Samsung had distributed the latest version update for the S8 and S8 Plus since last week. Now, however, they are backing down again. The reason for this is said to have been repeated restarts and endless loops after the Oreo update. Since this ProIf the problem affects a larger number of users, delivery has been temporarily stopped.

Fix for the bug in the Android 8 update in progress

Samsung is currently working on that Proproblem and the rollout will continue as soon as possible, according to the company Via Sammobile. For owners of a Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus with Android Oreo update it should, except shortly after installation, but no further Progive problems. Nevertheless, these users will receive another patch in the coming days.

This should help with an infinite loop when starting

If you are currently in a boot loop, you should press all four buttons at the same time with the charger plugged in. With a user in the Samsung forum this should have worked. If you have the update available for installation, you should never install it again. There should also have been data losses with the update. In general, you should always make a current backup before a software update.

But for Samsung this is no cause for shame. Manufacturers such as OnePlus have also encountered such software errors when upgrading to Android 8.0 Oreo. It is for this very reason that you should wait a few days before installing such large updates. Then usually the biggest errors have already been fixed.
