Scanner Pro gets an update: New design, better OCR and new pricing model

Scanner Pro is known Readdle's app for scanning documents. A new update now brings a new design, improved OCR and a new pricing model.

Admittedly, up to today's update, you noticed that Readdle had not refreshed the design of the app for a long time. But that changed now. The appearance has been polished up in many places and slightly changed so that it looks modern again without having to modify the user interface itself. So you should find your way around again quickly.

Scanner Pro: Text vision and full-text search

The Text Vision feature is also new, which should make working with scans a lot easier in the future. After each scan, Text Vision analyzes the result and extracts the recognized text. This can then be copied immediately for further use. In practice this is useful, for example, when an email address printed on a form is needed in an email app.

With the installation of the update you can also search for individual texts in your scans. This is made possible by the direct conversion into a PDF by the app.

Scanner Pro: Prices and availability

Previously was scanner Pro an app that you had to buy before installing it. This is no longer the case. scanner Pro is free as of today, but offers a paid subscription for 21,99 euros pro year with some additional features. Here, for example, the two new OCR functions just mentioned are included. Incidentally, those who have already bought the app will no longer be asked to pay extra.
