WhatsApp currently appears to be down. Sending messages and media is currently not possible. WhatsApp has not yet commented on the problem.

Article posted at 08:19 pm: Messenger and social networks are constantly struggling with problems. Just yesterday, Instagram down. Now it seems the breakdown on New Year's Eve to hit WhatsApp again – but this time with a worldwide disruption. For example, users in the USA are also complaining about problems with WhatsApp.

WhatsApp down: Server completely down

With the current fault in WhatsApp, the servers are not accessible across the board. Sending and receiving messages is not possible. It is not known why this is. In addition, the WhatsApp status account inactive on Twitter for years.

Update at 08:45 pm: The service seems to have stabilized and is working again.
